1. What is the difference between PAC and ACH in water treatment? +
Aluminum Chlorohydrate (ACH) is a highly concentrated form of Polyaluminium Chloride (PAC). ACH features higher basicity (up to 83%) and Al2O3 content (up to 23% in liquid, 46% in powder) than standard PAC (typically 50-65% basicity and 10-30% Al2O3). This higher basicity means ACH contains more highly polymerized Al13 and Al30 nanoclusters, which neutralize colloidal charges more efficiently and consume less alkalinity, preventing pH drops and reducing chemical sludge volume.
2. How do I choose between Cationic (CPAM) and Anionic (APAM) Polyacrylamide? +
The choice depends on the electrical charge of the suspended solids in your water matrix. Anionic PAM (APAM) is typically used for inorganic mineral suspensions, coal washing, and metallurgical slurries, where particles carry a positive surface charge. 3. How does Water Decolorizing Agent (WDA) target color in dye effluents? +
Our Water Decolorizing Agent is a dicyandiamide-formaldehyde copolymer with a strong cationic charge. Direct, reactive, and acid dye molecules carry strong anionic (negative) charges. When added to dye wastewater, WDA neutralizes these charges and breaks the dye molecules' chromophore structures. This precipitates the dye molecules out of solution as insoluble microflocs, which are easily removed via sedimentation or dissolved air flotation.
4. What is the typical shelf life of liquid vs. powder water treatment chemicals? +
Solid powder products (such as PAC powder, CPAM/APAM crystals) have a shelf life of 24 months when stored in their original packaging in cool, dry, well-ventilated areas. Liquid products (such as Liquid PAC, Liquid ACH, and PDADMAC solution) have a shelf life of 6 to 12 months. They should be stored in UV-stabilized, corrosion-resistant tanks (FRP, HDPE) to prevent hydrolysis or degradation.
