Factory-direct high-purity coagulants and polyacrylamides engineered for optimal turbidity removal, solid-liquid separation, and effluent refinement.
As municipal and industrial sectors face stricter regulations, the water technology landscape is shifting towards green chemistry, digital dosing systems, and circular resource recovery.
The global demand for high-performance coagulants and polymeric flocculants is driven by urban population growth, aging water infrastructure, and stringent environmental discharge standards such as the European Green Deal and US EPA guidelines. Industries are shifting from simple neutralization processes to advanced, multi-stage physical-chemical treatment systems, prioritizing carbon reduction in chemical synthesis and minimized sludge yield.
Modern water purification operations prioritize Zero Liquid Discharge (ZLD). Chemical suppliers must produce polymers with high active ingredients and minimal salt indexes. Low-dust, high-basicity coagulants like Aluminum Chlorohydrate (ACH) and complex organic polymers play a vital role. They improve settling velocities and minimize the volumetric footprints of sludge cakes, lowering solid waste management costs.
Chemical feeding is transitioning to automated platforms. Real-time monitoring of Zeta Potential, turbidity, and TOC dynamically controls the feed rates of Polyacrylamide and PAC. High-quality solid granules with zero caking, low-dust profiles, and precise solubility metrics are critical to prevent clogging in automated hopper feeds, ensuring consistent run times in unmanned smart plants.

The performance of Polyaluminum Chloride (PAC) is determined by its basicity, which indicates the degree of polymerization of its aluminum species. Highly polymerized Keggin structures, such as $Al_{13}$ ($[AlO_4Al_{12}(OH)_{24}(H_2O)_{12}]^{7+}$) and $Al_{30}$, provide higher charge density compared to monomeric aluminum ions like $Al^{3+}$. This charge density allows for efficient neutralization of negatively charged colloidal particles in raw surface water, promoting rapid micro-floc formation even at low water temperatures.
For high-end industrial and drinking water applications, High-Basicity Aluminum Chlorohydrate (ACH), with basicity levels up to 83% and an $Al_2O_3$ content of 23% in liquid form, offers a premium alternative. Its pre-hydrolyzed structure reduces chemical demand and minimizes pH drops in the treated system. This lowers or eliminates the need for post-treatment neutralization agents like sodium hydroxide or lime.
Polyacrylamide acts as a flocculant, bridging micro-flocs formed during primary coagulation into larger, shear-resistant flocs. Anionic Polyacrylamide (APAM) features negative carboxyl groups along its backbone, making it effective for treating inorganic slurries, coal washery effluents, and mining operations. APAM works through hydrogen bonding and electrostatic attraction to mineral surfaces.
Cationic Polyacrylamide (CPAM) is synthesized by copolymerizing acrylamide with cationic monomers like DAC or DMC. The resulting positive charge density neutralizes negative charges on organic substrates. This makes CPAM suitable for conditioning municipal sewage sludge and industrial biological wastes before dewatering via filter presses, belt presses, or centrifuges.

Expert insights on chemical selection, dosing optimization, and sludge dewatering performance.
The primary differences lie in basicity and aluminum oxide ($Al_2O_3$) content. PAC generally has a basicity range of 45% to 80% and $Al_2O_3$ content of 28% to 30% in powder form. ACH is a highly concentrated aluminum coagulant with a high basicity of 83% and an $Al_2O_3$ content of 23% in liquid form (and 46% in powder form). ACH's pre-hydrolyzed polymeric structure allows for effective coagulation with minimal impact on pH, reducing the need for post-treatment neutralization agents.
Selection depends on the nature of your sludge and the dewatering equipment used. High-speed centrifuges require high molecular weight polymers with cross-linked structures to withstand shear forces. Belt filter presses typically perform best with medium-to-high molecular weight linear polymers. For highly organic sludge, such as municipal biological waste, high-charge CPAM is generally needed. For primary municipal sludge, a lower charge density may be more effective. We recommend laboratory jar testing to determine the optimal dosage and polymer match.
Our Water Decolorizing Agent (WDA) is a cationic copolymer designed to treat colored wastewater containing reactive, acid, or disperse dyes. The polymer's high density of positive charges neutralizes the negative charges on dye molecules. This destabilizes the color molecules, causing them to group together and form flocs that can be removed through sedimentation or flotation processes. WDA is often used in combination with PAC or APAM to improve settling speeds and filtrate clarity.
Solid polyacrylamide is highly hygroscopic; exposure to humidity can cause clumping or caking. Automated dosing hoppers and dry feed systems require uniform, free-flowing granules. Caked material can clog feeding mechanisms, leading to under-dosing and potential process upsets in downstream purification. Our production lines use dedicated drying and packaging technology to ensure low-dust, anti-caking granules that remain stable during storage and feed reliably.
