Polyaluminum Chloride (PAC) typically offers faster flocculation and sedimentation rates than traditional aluminum sulfate. Because PAC is pre-hydrolyzed, it is less temperature-dependent and consumes less water alkalinity during reaction. This generally leads to smaller shifts in pH, reducing the need for neutralization chemicals downstream.
Basicity indicates the level of pre-hydrolyzed polymeric species within the solution. High basicity ACH (typically 83% and above) provides high charge density, meaning lower dosages are needed to destabilize colloidal matter. It also generates less sludge and minimizes changes to treated water pH compared to lower-basicity options.
