Direct supply from Wuxi BS Water Treatment Chemicals Co., Ltd. Optimized chemical solutions matching heavy municipal and industrial filtration processes.
A comprehensive analysis of market dynamics, chemical synergy, and global procurement paradigms.
Aluminium Sulphate (Al2(SO4)3) remains the cornerstone of primary coagulation. Modern water plants require high-purity, low-iron formulations to meet drinking water safety requirements while optimizing sludge volume.
By pairing aluminium salts with organic polymers like PDADMAC or Polyacrylamide, treatment plants achieve rapid micro-floc formation, bridging the gap between chemical charge neutralization and physical sedimentation.
Tightening environmental regulations globally demand zero-sludge discharge in industrial processes. Upgrading from standard commercial alums to high-purity coagulants minimizes heavy metal impurities and salt discharge.
Sourcing water treatment chemicals requires balancing active concentration, freight efficiency, and crystallization risks. Liquid Aluminium Sulphate typically contains about 8% Al2O3, making it highly economical for regional delivery, but prone to crystallization in cold climates when concentration levels are high. Conversely, solid Aluminium Sulphate (powder or granules at 16-17% Al2O3) provides maximum transport economy for international shipping but requires onsite dissolving systems.
B2B procurement officers evaluate chemical manufacturers on strict metrics: operational scale, continuity of raw materials, and large-scale warehouse capacity. A reliable factory must have the capacity to maintain inventory during global freight delays, preventing municipal plants from facing treatment interruptions. Wuxi BS Water Treatment Chemicals secures this dynamic with our 20,000+ ton finished product storage facility and high-volume automated packaging lines.
A Technology Leader with 27 Years of Expertise in Water Treatment Chemicals. We specialize in producing a series of water treatment products for the purification of drinking water and various domestic and industrial wastewater systems.
By integrating modern production lines and strict raw-material qualification procedures, Wuxi BS delivers chemical stability across all batch shipments. Our products are widely utilized in heavy industries, paper manufacturing, and municipal filtration infrastructure globally.
Factory Overview
Coagulation is not a single-mechanism process. Raw water contains suspended colloidal particles that carry a negative surface charge, keeping them dispersed in suspension due to electrostatic repulsion. To clean the water, the coagulants must carry out two distinct phases: Charge Neutralization and Interparticle Bridging.
Inorganic metal salts, such as Aluminium Sulphate or Polyaluminium Chloride (PAC), hydrolyze in water to form highly positively charged polyvalent aluminum complexes (e.g., Al13 polycations). These positively charged complexes adsorb onto the surface of negatively charged organic and inorganic colloids, neutralizing their zeta potential. As the charge approaches zero, the electrostatic repulsive forces drop, allowing the micro-flocs to coalesce.
Once the charges are neutralized, high molecular weight polymers, such as Polyacrylamide (PAM) or PDADMAC, are introduced. These long-chain organic molecules attach to multiple micro-flocs simultaneously. By extending their polymer chains across the water media, they bind small particles into dense macro-flocs. This synergistic process significantly accelerates sedimentation velocity and increases filter run times.
Traditional Aluminium Sulphate is an excellent cost-effective choice for neutral to slightly alkaline waters. However, its hydrolysis consumes alkalinity, which can drop the pH of treated water and require post-treatment neutralization with lime or caustic soda. To counter this, chemical engineers developed polymerized alternatives with higher basicity, such as Polyaluminium Chloride (PAC) and Aluminum Chlorohydrate (ACH).
ACH represents the highest basicity limit (typically 83-84%) among polymerized aluminum coagulants. It contains the highest concentration of active polymeric alumina (Al2O3 up to 23-24% in liquid form). This high basicity means it consumes minimal alkalinity during coagulation, keeping pH stable and eliminating the need for pH adjustment chemicals. This reduces chemical storage footprints, lowers operational costs, and minimizes overall salt addition to the treated water effluent.
